A simple dinner, a family, a home sa labas!!!

Good morning dear friends, let me share a slice of happiness i experienced last evening. Its my sisters birthday last night, we usually have a reunion every Saturday at home. The married sisters get to come home with their husband and children, my nephews and nieces. This is my sisters way of making my parents feel, they have not lost a daughter, this case, two daughters but gained 2 son-in-laws and grandchildren.

Last night was different, my second brother-in-laws just lost his grandmother 3 weeks ago and its a courtesy that they do not visit other homes for they are in mourning. Kaya sa Causeway Banawe Restaurant kami nag dinner. As we entered the restaurant, nasa second floor pala kami and we were able to reserve two adjoining rooms with a private toilet, wow!!! that is something different.

Of course, there is a table for the kids and a table for the adults. Yun mga grandchildren that can join in the conversation with their aunts, uncles, and grandparents gets to join the adult table. At ako and my wife joined the kids table because we get to yaya the kids, sa totoo lang, i miss my neice, nephew, and two young kids. Sa bahay usually mga 3 groups ang kakain sa table: first- mga below 13 years old, second- mga gutom na at di na makapaghintay, that includes me, my brother in laws, and my father, third- my sisters and mother, they get to eat slowly and update the latest happening with their family and work, and of course kung whats the latest with their kids- this is the group that will occupy the dinner table until 10pm. Kung di pa natapos sa kwentuhan at may gusto pang pagusapan, transfer pa yan sa sala at itutuloy pa up to sawa. Ganyan talaga pag we miss each other and there is love in a house- kaya nga kahit luma na bahay namin, masarap pa rin tirhan- Its WARM - iam the eldest of my siblings and 5 ang sisters ko. 2 ang my asawa and 3 ang single. Kaya pag sa tsimisan kasama rin ako, this time nakikisama pa asawa ko and my eldest son. Back to the restaurant, 2 sets of food ang order, one set dinner another a la cart ba yun, order ng fried rice, sweet and sour meat, noodles, and soimai- kids food na yan daw- nabusog din ako ano. Whats good in the kids table is may pasa ng adult food to our table for the children, of course ako ang kakain nyan, hehe.

Grabe, ginawang playground na ng mga bata ang 2 rooms. Nag hide and seek na, nag musical chairs pa, kaya lang nakaupo sila at may pen na umiikot until the cellphone music stops. Kung sino taya, gets to dance in front or do a dare. Hehe, i watched the kids, i saw they innovated when my sister told them not to run around, they switched to musical chair game. Parang nasa bahay sila and they were happy. Water was readily available and the food is still unfinished kaya pag nagutom uli, kain uli sila, unlike me- kain lang ng kain while watching.

Nadyan lang naman ang private toilet and it was also busy, sa bahay kasi 4 ang toilets and with 22 people in the house, pretty well used yan. Tonight dito sa Causeway Restaurant, 1 toilet for 20 people, sulit ang toilet na yan.

Natapos na kami ng 1030pm at must go home pa. We said our goodbyes and felt we were in our home tonight. Kahit my malungkot na nangyari sa 1 sister and her husband sa side nila, our reunion is still that- a coming together of a family. In a family, that's all that matter, to be there and to care for each other. Kahit not sa house still the feeling is the same. Thank you Causeway Banawe Restaurant for accommodating us, our HOME SA LABAS!!!!
